2020 CHAMPIONSHIP 2009

Cavaliers proved just too strong for the TGS Vincy team on sunday.
chasing 219 Vincy could only muster 158 as first Persaud and then Auguiste ripped through their batting. Early Sinclair had been cavaliers saviour after early wickets threatened to dethrone them

Digicel signs

Digicel (BVI ) Ltd has confirmed its commitment to local cricket by signing a three year deal to sponsor the domestic 2020 cricket championship.

in a brief ceremony held at the dept of youth affairs and sports CEO Alan Bates handed over a check to BVICA president A O Shirley.

The deal is for 3 years and guarantees the BVICA can continue its path to bringing bigger and better organised cricket for local teams.

the financial benefits not only mean the championship can grow year by year but also that money can be provided to teams to develop their own structure and playing standards

One idea already proposed by Charlie Jackson is to have a Virgin Islands championship match between the winners of the Digicel 2020 cricket championship and similar tournaments held in the USVI

Teams will also receive new clothing and hopefully kit bags to further assist in offsetting their costs of involvement and also to take the club structure to a new level of organisation
